Richard McGregor
Richard McGregor was appointed deputy news editor for the Financial Times in September 2009. Prior to that he was the Beijing bureau chief, and before that he was Shanghai correspondent. Prior to joining the FT, McGregor was the chief political correspondent for The Australian in Canberra for two years, and China correspondent for The Australian in Hong Kong for three years. He has also worked for the International Herald Tribune, the BBC and the Far Eastern Economic Review and in various journalistic roles in Taiwan, Sydney, Canberra and Melbourne.McGregor graduated from Sydney University in 1980, studying law, economics and French.The Second Annual Great FT Debate: China Will Be A Superpower by 2020.
