Andrew Field

Andrew Field graduated from Dartmouth College in 1991 with a BA in Asian Studies and from Columbia University in 2001 with a PhD in East Asian Languages and Cultures, specializing in Modern Chinese History. He taught Chinese History for several years at the University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia. He currently resides in Shanghai, where he teaches Chinese History for New York University in Shanghai.Shanghai’s Dancing World: Cabaret Culture and Urban Politics, 1919-1954, Saturday, March 13, 11am.
