Sarnath Banerjee, born in Calcutta and now living in Berlin, is a graphic novelist, artist, film maker and co-founder of the comic book publishing house, Phantomville. Banerjee studied Image and Communication at Goldsmiths College, University of London before publishing his first novel, Corridor, which was widely marketed as India’s first graphic novel. His books tell stories of everyday Indians, from urban flâneurs and government bureaucrats to psychic plumbers whose powers are well suited to the many buildings that have sprung up in India without blueprints.
