Khosrow Hassanzadeh, born in Tehran to a working class Azerbaijani family, is an actor and visual artist. He studied painting at Mojtama-e-Honar University (1989-91) followed by Persian Literature at Azad University (1995-99) and has featured his work in many exhibitions in Europe and the Middle East. His fascinating, versatile oeuvre spans a wide range of media from screenprinting, painting and drawing to collages and assemblage. He presents a fascinating social commentary about Iran and is frequently referred to as a ‘political’ artist due to his work dealing with issues considered sensitive in Iranian society.
